Benjamin Duke

Benjamin Swallow Duke is an American painter born in 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky, who creates large-scale figurative oil paintings that explore narrative, philosophy, history, and mythology through imaginative realism. He has been teaching painting and drawing at Michigan State University since 2006, where he holds the position of Associate Professor. His work is represented by Gallery Victor Armendariz in Chicago and has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including recent exhibitions such as 'Chance Factor' at Muskegon Community College's Overbrook Gallery in November 2025.
