Felipe Baeza

Felipe Baeza was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico in 1987 and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, receiving his BFA from Cooper Union in 2009 and his MFA from Yale in 2018. Fusing collage, painting, printmaking, and other techniques, Felipe Baeza creates multilayered, textural works exploring notions of the body to distort conventional modes of inhabiting. Baeza receives the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Visual Arts for his studio practice and his poetic visual style, engaging multiple mediums and traditions to explore spirituality, otherness, and regeneration. His work was included in The Milk of Dreams, 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Venice, Italy (2022).
