Maurizio Cattelan (b. 1960) is an Italian conceptual artist known for his provocative and satirical hyperrealistic sculptures and installations. His recent work includes 'Sunday' (2024), a series of gold-plated steel panels riddled with gunfire shown at Gagosian New York, and 'Bones' (2025) at Gagosian London. In 2025, he is creating an outdoor installation for the Vatican's Venice Biennale Pavilion and has a major three-year exhibition at Centre Pompidou-Metz featuring over 30 of his works in dialogue with 400 pieces from the museum's collection.
