Paul Travis Phillips is a Winston-Salem based conceptually driven interdisciplinary artist and educator who currently serves as Associate Professor of Studio Art at Elon University. His practice co-opts and subverts traditional sources of information such as books, articles, and notes to explore the nature of language as it relates to the search for knowledge and meaning, creating paintings, installations, videos, and resurfaced objects. He holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from UNC Chapel Hill (2016) and has exhibited extensively across North Carolina and in New York, including at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Ackland Art Museum, and Duke University.
