Arizona Commission on the Arts Grants Program

Arizona awarded $2.5M in grants to 375 nonprofits, festivals, and arts programs across four funding categories statewide.

The Arizona Commission on the Arts announced 375 grant awards totaling $2,546,273 from a one-time legislative appropriation supporting the state's arts and culture sector. Grants are distributed across four categories: Creative Capacity Grants provide general operating support to arts organizations with awards ranging from $800 to $24,000 based on organization size and competitive review performance. Festival Grants support community arts festivals with awards of $2,000-$5,000, with almost 70 festivals receiving funding this round. Lifelong Arts Engagement Grants and Youth Arts Engagement Grants support meaningful arts learning experiences for adults and young people under 24 in community settings, with 47 programs receiving up to $5,000 each. Recipients range from community theaters to pottery festivals, museums to after-school programs across Arizona. The funding augments the agency's regular budget from the Arts Trust Fund ($1.2M annually) and National Endowment for the Arts partnership grant ($1M average). This investment supports Arizona's nonprofit arts sector in driving local economies, enhancing community vibrancy, improving education, and promoting resident well-being.
