Art Vault 2025 Call for Artists - Albuquerque
Create immersive, site-specific installations in a converted Treasury vault at Albuquerque City Hall. Up to $5,000 funding available.
The City of Albuquerque's Public Art Urban Enhancement Division invites local artists to submit proposals for immersive, site-specific installations in the Art Vault, a unique temporary exhibition space located within Gallery One at City Hall. This converted former Treasury vault serves as an intimate installation space for experimental and experiential works. Artists are encouraged to challenge traditional artistic mediums and use the intimate scale of the vault to create impactful, unconventional experiences. The program seeks to inspire artists to create new temporary installations, develop quality works exhibiting diverse artistic styles, and provide a physical space for creative experimentation. Previous installations have included ambient sound and lighting experiences, 3D-printed sculptures, and deconstructed video sermons. The program specifically aims to support diverse local artists, especially emerging artists, in managing small-scale public art projects while advancing their professional and creative skills. All Art Vault projects are documented and included in the City's public art records. Public Art Program staff provide mentorship in developing strong proposals and support selected artists through documentation and promotion.
