Artist Community Residency - Climate & Circularity

Two 10-month residencies in Derry for socially engaged artists focused on climate justice and circular economy. £20,000 each.

Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity is offering two exceptional 10-month, place-based community residencies running from October 2025 to July 2026 in Derry City & Strabane. This opportunity is open to artists from any discipline who demonstrate experience in socially engaged, co-designed practice and show a strong commitment to climate justice and the circular economy. The program features two distinct residency locations: one positioned in the Triax area of Derry City and another in the Faughan DEA (District Electoral Area). Each residency comes with a substantial fee of £20,000, providing artists with the financial support needed to fully engage with their community-based work. The residencies are designed to foster deep connections between artists and local communities while addressing critical contemporary issues around climate change and sustainable practices. Artists selected for these positions will be expected to work collaboratively with community members, developing projects that emerge from shared concerns and local knowledge. The emphasis on co-designed practice means that successful applicants should be comfortable working in partnership with community stakeholders rather than imposing predetermined artistic visions. This approach aligns with the program's commitment to climate justice, ensuring that artistic interventions are responsive to local needs and priorities while contributing to broader conversations about environmental sustainability and circular economy principles.
