Arvo Pärt at 90 Concert - Chamber Choir Ireland

Chamber Choir Ireland celebrates composer Arvo Pärt's 90th birthday with performances in Galway and Dublin featuring his spiritual works.

This is a concert event rather than an artist opportunity. Chamber Choir Ireland is celebrating Estonian composer Arvo Pärt's 90th birthday with a special programme of his works conducted by Nils Schweckendiek, Artistic Director of the Helsinki Chamber Choir. The programme was curated by Paul Hillier, Pärt's long-time artistic collaborator and former Artistic Director of Chamber Choir Ireland. The concert explores five decades of Pärt's compositions, showcasing his distinctive 'tintinnabuli' musical language inspired by church bell resonances. The programme includes works such as 'An den Wassern zu Babel saßen wir und weinten', 'Sieben Magnificat-Antiphonen', 'Morning Star', 'Habitare fratres in unum', 'Trivium', 'Dopo la vittoria', and 'Beatitudines'. The performance runs approximately one hour without interval and takes place at St Nicholas Collegiate Church in Galway on September 25, 2025, at 7:30pm, with an additional performance at Newman University Church in Dublin on September 27. This event represents a significant celebration of one of the most influential living composers, known for his deeply spiritual and minimalist approach to composition.
