Ballyogan Library Public Arts Commission
€11,000 budget for sound-based art projects focusing on memories/histories or future visions of Ballyogan with community engagement.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is inviting proposals from individual artists or artist groups for two sound-based art projects connected to the new Ballyogan Library at the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus. Each commission offers a budget of €11,000. Projects should focus on one of two themes: memories and histories of Ballyogan with older or retired local people, or future visions of Ballyogan and libraries with young people aged 12-18. Artworks may include soundscapes, field recordings, podcasts, audio documentaries, or other sound-based formats suitable for public presentation. Selected artists will be required to engage with local groups and make regular visits to Ballyogan during the project period from January to March 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for sound artists to create meaningful community-engaged work while exploring themes of place, memory, and future aspirations through audio art.
