Bangarra Dance Theatre invites Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander dance graduates and experienced dance artists aged 18 and over to apply for professional contracted dancer positions with the company. As a dancer with Bangarra Dance Theatre, successful candidates will be part of a company of storytellers and fire makers who draw on 65,000 years of culture to create and perform contemporary dance theatre presented across Australia and internationally. Each dancer brings their own unique cultural and artistic experience to the creative space, learning from each other and from the First Nations communities with which the company engages. The positions are subject to availability and the outcome of contract negotiations, with roles not guaranteed. Applications are required to be invited to audition, making this a competitive selection process. Bangarra Dance Theatre is renowned for creating powerful contemporary dance works that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and stories, offering successful applicants the opportunity to be part of significant cultural storytelling on both national and international stages.
