Binders Art Supplies Mural Design Open Call
Create an interior mural for Atlanta's iconic art supply store celebrating 70 years of supporting local artists.
Binders Art Supplies and Frames, Atlanta's beloved family-owned art store celebrating its 70th anniversary, is seeking artists to create a new interior mural for their Buckhead location. The mural will be positioned above the stairs inside the store and should encompass art themes while giving the space a fresh look and potentially telling the history of Binders. This is an opportunity to create artwork for one of Atlanta's most iconic creative spaces that has served generations of local artists since 1955. The store already features a popular exterior disco-era mural that has become a local landmark where people regularly take photos. Artists are encouraged to bring their own creative ideas to the project, with the understanding that the mural should reflect the artistic spirit and community connection that Binders has fostered over seven decades. The store has been in its current Buckhead location since 2004 and is looking for a facelift that honors both its legacy and Atlanta's growing reputation as a mural city. This commission offers artists the chance to contribute to a space that has been instrumental in supporting Atlanta's creative community through partnerships with schools, art leagues, and institutions like SCAD Atlanta.
