Boulder Storytelling Artists for Elevate Boulder Program
Artists wanted to lead storytelling activities with guaranteed income pilot participants. $50,000 budget. Applications due May 31.
The City of Boulder is seeking Boulder area and Colorado-based artists to engage in storytelling activities with participants of Elevate Boulder, the city's guaranteed income pilot project. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) invites artists working in creative writing, video, monologue, or other forms of oral storytelling to help guaranteed income recipients share how the project is impacting their lives. The city has allocated an estimated budget of $50,000 total for all forms of storytelling activities, which should take place between July and October 2025. Artists can submit proposals for one storytelling form for a smaller portion of the budget, or multiple forms for a larger amount. The activities should be designed to position Elevate Boulder participants as storytellers themselves, rather than as subjects of an artist's personal project. Finished results will be shared publicly to build awareness of Elevate Boulder and its impacts. Both individuals and organizations/teams are encouraged to apply, with preference given to Boulder and regional artists. The storytelling activities will help participants express how receiving direct cash assistance is impacting their lives while creating public awareness about the program's effectiveness.
