Call for artists for local art projects in Frome
Frome Town Council seeks artists for mural project and map design with August deadlines
Frome Town Council is inviting local artists and designers to submit expressions of interest for two exciting art projects in Frome. The first project involves creating a bold, super-realistic graffiti-style mural on the mower shed building in Victoria Park. This small, practical building is located on a well-used path between Victoria Park and Mary Baily, with its wall serving as a prominent canvas for public art. The council is looking for artwork that will bring colour, energy and creativity to the park through a fresh, vibrant design. The second project involves creating new town map designs for the Discover Frome initiative. The council seeks designers and illustrators to develop clear, attractive maps showing the town's layout, shopping areas, local landmarks and transport links. These maps will be displayed on noticeboards around Frome and made available in both paper and digital formats at the Discover Frome information point and town hall. The new maps will cover a wider area than previous versions, incorporating the station, Frome Medical Practice, Badgers Hill, Badcox and the Boulder Rooms. The design should reflect Frome's independent character, walkability and vibrant local culture while maintaining a consistent visual identity across all uses that aligns with the Discover Frome brand identity. Both projects offer artists the opportunity to contribute to the community and create work that will be seen by residents and visitors alike.
Submission Guidelines
Artists must submit expressions of interest. Mural project deadline is August 29th, map design project deadline is August 31st. Projects should reflect Frome's independent character and vibrant local culture.

2. Step 2: Prepare expression of interest for either the mural project (deadline August 29th) or map design project (deadline August 31st)
