Great Basin National Park Artist Residency 2026
Artist-in-residence program at Great Basin National Park for visual, literary, and musical artists across the U.S.
Great Basin National Park Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 artist-in-residency programs. This opportunity is open to visual artists, literary artists, musicians, and other creative professionals from across the United States, with one position specifically reserved for artists from Nevada or Utah. Four artists will be selected to participate in residencies scheduled for summer, fall, or winter of 2026. Each residency will last between two to three weeks and is designed to provide artists with uninterrupted time for creative work while drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the National Park. Selected artists will receive housing accommodations, which may include either camping or lodge facilities, depending on the season and availability. However, artists are responsible for covering their own travel expenses to and from the park, as well as food and other personal expenditures during their stay. No additional stipend is provided. This residency program offers a unique opportunity for artists to immerse themselves in one of Nevada's most pristine natural environments, potentially creating work that reflects the park's diverse ecosystems, from desert valleys to alpine peaks. The program supports the National Park Service's mission to connect the arts with natural heritage while providing artists with a focused environment for creative development.
