Hazleton Art League September Events & Call for Artists

Multiple opportunities including chalk festival, gallery exhibition, golf tournament, and sci-fi themed group show call for artists.

The Hazleton Art League is hosting several exciting opportunities for artists in September and October. The month kicks off with the gallery opening of 'Alice Laputka: Colors of the West' featuring work that explores color and form through interpretations of the natural world. This exhibition will be accompanied by an artist's talk and runs through September 28th. The highlight event is the 10th Annual Peace, Love and Chalk Sidewalk Art Festival on September 14th, offering prizes in both Youth and Adult categories sponsored by Joe Maddon's Respect 90 Foundation. Artists can register online to participate in this outdoor sidewalk art competition. The league is also hosting their Third Annual Color the Course Golf Tournament as a major fundraising event with a goal of $25,000, offering sponsorship and player registration opportunities. Looking ahead to October, there's a significant call for artists for the group show 'Signals Not Lost', a sci-fi themed exhibition that will feature Art in Bloom in partnership with the Hazleton Area Garden Club, where floral arrangements will be inspired by works in the exhibition. This presents multiple pathways for artist involvement, from exhibition participation to community engagement through the chalk festival.
