Keizer Utility Box Art Wrapping Project

City of Keizer seeks artists to submit artwork for utility box wraps. $200 payment per selected piece, 3 boxes available this year.

The City of Keizer Public Arts Commission is accepting submissions from local artists to create artwork that will be converted into wraps for utility boxes throughout the city. This ongoing public art initiative aims to transform gray utility boxes at intersections into colorful community art installations. The city has budgeted for three utility boxes in the coming year, with each box costing approximately $1,000 to produce. Selected artists will receive $200 compensation for their chosen artwork. This program has successfully installed several wrapped boxes in recent years, featuring works by various local artists including iris abstracts, leaping salmon designs, whimsical cow images, trout art, and floral pieces located at major intersections throughout Keizer. The artwork is converted into a vinyl wrap that covers the entire utility box, creating an eye-catching public art display. Artists can submit their work through an online form available on the city's website. The program represents an excellent opportunity for artists to contribute to community beautification while receiving compensation and public recognition for their work.
