Las Vegas Arts District Projection Mapping Initiative
Seeking digital artists to create site-specific projection works for monthly showcases on buildings throughout the Las Vegas Arts District
The City of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Arts District Business Association, announces an ongoing program commissioning digital artists to create site-specific projection mapping works. Selected artists will develop pieces to be showcased during monthly First Friday events throughout the Arts District.
The initiative aims to activate building facades and public spaces while supporting innovation in digital public art. Each month features 3-4 new commissioned works projected onto pre-selected architectural surfaces. Artists receive technical support, access to high-end projection equipment, and a $5,000 commission fee per work.
Proposals should consider the unique architectural characteristics of available sites and demonstrate creative approaches to projection mapping. Works can incorporate interactive elements, sound, and real-time data visualization. Artists may propose single-site or multi-site installations.
The program seeks both established and emerging artists working in digital media, animation, motion graphics, and creative coding. Local artists receive priority consideration, but the program is open to national and international applicants. Selected artists must be available for on-site installation and testing periods.
