MBZ LAB//Sonic Collaboration in Unconventional Spaces

Music Biennale Zagreb invites sound and music artists from South East and Central Europe to join their project incubator experiment.

The Music Biennale Zagreb is launching MBZ LAB, an innovative 'project incubator' experiment that reimagines how festivals commission and produce new works. This opportunity is specifically designed for individual artists and artistic duos from South East and Central Europe who work in sound and music. MBZ LAB focuses on sonic collaboration in unconventional spaces, offering artists a unique platform to develop and showcase experimental works. The program represents a fresh approach to festival production, moving away from traditional commissioning models to create a more collaborative and experimental environment. Artists selected for MBZ LAB will have the opportunity to work in non-traditional venues and spaces, pushing the boundaries of conventional music and sound art presentation. This initiative is part of the Music Biennale Zagreb's commitment to supporting emerging and established artists in the region while fostering innovation in contemporary music and sound art. The program aims to create new networks and collaborations between artists, venues, and audiences, ultimately contributing to the development of the contemporary music scene in South East and Central Europe.
