Monmouth Arts Annual Member Exhibit: Seen & Unseen

Annual member exhibition at Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery exploring theme of Seen & Unseen, Nov 1-Dec 11.

Monmouth Arts invites the creative community of Monmouth County to submit works exploring the theme of Seen & Unseen for their annual member exhibition at Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery in West Long Branch. The exhibition runs November 1 through December 11 with an opening reception on November 7. This multidisciplinary exhibition encourages artists to look more closely at both their surroundings and inner landscapes, recognizing the presence and power of what is often left in the shadows. Artists are invited to consider what we overlook in daily life, what deserves remembrance, and how inhabited spaces mirror our inner worlds. The theme seeks to reclaim narratives shaping Monmouth County's cultural and emotional landscape through painting, sculpture, photography, video, and mixed media. Artists may draw from archival material, oral histories, urban exploration, memories, and introspection to uncover stories embedded in places and people. The exhibition will be guest curated by Vaune Peck, Director of Monmouth University's Center for the Arts. This is the eighth year of the annual member exhibit, named for Dr. Charles Sills, a painter, sculptor, and arts supporter. Pollak Gallery is located on Monmouth University's campus, adjacent to Pollak Theatre, and regularly features regional artists and community collaborations.
