The Royal Society of British Artists invites artists of all backgrounds to submit works for the RBA Annual Exhibition 2026 at Mall Galleries, London. This prestigious opportunity, continuing a tradition dating back to 1823, welcomes various media including painting, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing. Successful applicants will have their work exhibited both in the gallery and online, with eligibility to win significant prizes and awards totaling over £20,000. The top prize, the Huaicun Zhang Award, offers £10,000 for exceptional quality work. Additional awards include the £3,000 Whistler Award, £2,000 de Laszlo Foundation Award for artists 35 and under, and numerous other prizes ranging from £50-£500. Artists can submit up to six works through the online submission system, with up to four works per artist potentially selected. The exhibition runs from February 26 to March 7, 2026, with an exclusive opening reception for selected artists. This opportunity provides not only monetary rewards but also networking possibilities and the chance to sell artwork to collectors and art enthusiasts.
Submission Guidelines
Online submissions only via OESS system. JPEG/PNG format under 5MB. Maximum 6 works per artist (up to 4 may be selected). Works must be original, not previously exhibited in London, and no larger than 2.4m on longest dimension. Acceptable media: painting, sculpture, drawing, original prints. Submission fee: £20 per work (£14 for artists 35 and under). Works must be framed substantially enough for mirror plating with 12mm screws - no metal frames, unprotected glass edges, or clip frames.
How to Apply
1. Register or log in to the Open Exhibition Submission System (OESS) between September 8, 2025 and January 9, 2026
2. Upload high-quality images of your artwork in JPEG/PNG format with all required details (title, medium, size, year, price)
3. Check selection results on January 16, 2026, and if selected, deliver your framed work to Mall Galleries on February 14, 2026
