Sunset Beach Art Festival Poster Design Competition
Create artwork for the 58th annual Sunset Beach Art Festival. Your design will appear on posters, T-shirts, and promotional materials.
Las Damas, a non-profit organization, is seeking talented local artists to create the featured artwork for the upcoming 58th annual Sunset Beach Art Festival. This Mother's Day Weekend event brings the community together and raises vital funds for local schools, charities, and scholarships. The winning design will be featured on posters, T-shirts, and promotional materials, giving the artist significant exposure as thousands of people will see their work. The theme is 'Your interpretation of Sunset Beach - What does Sunset Beach mean to you?' Artists can draw inspiration from beaches, sunsets, pelicans, waves, palm trees, surf, iconic landmarks, water towers, and local restaurants. Design requirements include simple artwork that works well for printing (detailed designs don't translate well), no more than 5 colors with an option for white on black version, and a 4:5 aspect ratio proportion (portrait mode). Artists should include their signature for printing purposes but don't need to add event details. While there is no monetary compensation, the winner will be announced at the November general meeting following a vote by Las Damas members. This is an excellent opportunity for local artists to gain community recognition and contribute to a meaningful fundraising effort.
Submission Guidelines

How to Apply
1. Step 1: Create artwork interpreting Sunset Beach theme using simple designs with max 5 colors in 4:5 aspect ratio
2. Step 2: Add your signature to the artwork for printing purposes
3. Step 3: Submit design by October 11th, 2025 to Las Damas PO Box 1156, Sunset Beach, CA 90742 or email info@lasdamas.org
