Town of Davie Utility Box Public Art Wrap Program
Open call for artists to design utility box wraps in Davie, FL. $200 compensation per selected design. Deadline October 28, 2025.
The Town of Davie is conducting a second open call for artists interested in having their original artwork wrapped on utility boxes throughout the town. This public art initiative aims to transform traffic signal boxes into creative pieces that enhance the experience for visitors and residents while preventing vandalization. Artists from Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties are eligible to apply. Artwork should reflect themes of higher education, local recreation and activities, and local nature. Each winning design will receive $200 for one-time reproduction rights. Artists may work in any medium including 2-D, painting, photography, graphic design, animation, and digital art. The artwork must be original and created by the artist, with a resolution of 360 DPI that's legible from cars yet contains intimacy for pedestrians. No logos, numbers, or words can be used in designs. Artists can submit up to five images, and experience in vinyl wraps or public art is not required as the Town will handle installation through a contracted vinyl wrapping company. A total of 18 boxes are scheduled to be wrapped, and the Town may select multiple designs from each artist.
Submission Guidelines
Artists must reside in Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade or Monroe Counties. Artwork must be original, 360 DPI resolution, reflect higher education/local recreation/local nature themes. No logos, numbers or words allowed. Up to 5 images can be submitted. Any art medium accepted.
How to Apply
1. Step 1: Complete the registration form at www.davie-fl.gov/UtilityBoxWrapArt
2. Step 2: Prepare up to 5 original artwork images at 360 DPI resolution reflecting the specified themes
3. Step 3: Submit application before October 28, 2025 deadline
