60th Anniversary Celebration and Opening Reception: MIRÓ/MATTA

The art world's elite assembled to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Galerie Gmurzynska and the opening of its new Fuller Building space. The gallery inaugurated its new Manhattan flagship with the exhibition MIRÓ/MATTA, a first-of-its-kind dialogue between two titans of 20th-century painting: Joan Miró and Roberto Matta. The star-studded celebration marked both the gallery's six-decade milestone and the opening of a space steeped in cultural history, once home to the legendary Pierre Matisse Gallery.
