Curiosities Opening Reception

Opening reception for 'Curiosities,' an exhibition featuring personal art and artifacts collected by centenarian Dorothy Herger from around the world over a lifetime of world travel. The exhibition showcases baskets, masks, ceremonial objects, and Herger's own ceramic works from Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Greece, China, Bali, and Turkey. All artifacts are steeped in the cultures they come from. The event includes a speech from Dorothy Herger at 2 p.m. This exhibition is a fundraiser for Mare Island Art Studios, with proceeds going towards producing future shows and building maintenance.
