Elevar La Cultura Artist Reception and Talk

The event features a 22-foot-tall installation titled "Elevar La Cultura" at the Latino Cultural Center courtyard, consisting of 200 ice coolers and honors immigrant labor, resilience, and survival. The gold-mirrored structure is a pyramid-inspired design rooted in Mesoamerican architecture and features physical layers of altars and ancestral textiles accompanied by a curated soundscape that includes cumbia, Afro-Latino music, hip-hop and reggae. The artist is scheduled to provide remarks at 7 p.m. during the event.
