Light Fields Opening Reception

Opening reception for Andrew Faulkner's fifth exhibition with Pamela Walsh Gallery. The exhibition features newer works moving toward pure abstraction while maintaining exuberant color layering. Notable works include 'Tidepool,' a massive diptych reminiscent of the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve; 'Pink Skies at Night,' the most representational piece featuring trees lining a pathway; pieces evoking Bay marshes, hills and the Golden Gate; and 'Just Like Heaven,' a more abstracted colorful sky blending into land. Faulkner's technique starts with a photo, then overlays colors with pastel before cropping down to smaller pieces.
