About the Exhibition

Features more than 800 works of art created by over 600 artists residing in 26 Michigan prisons. The exhibition highlights the artists' resilience and the profound impact of their art under the most challenging circumstances. A variety of styles and media are featured, ranging from paintings and tattoo imagery to found materials. To commemorate the exhibit's 30th anniversary, the Prison Creative Arts Project brought in artist Omari Booker as a resident curator, whose artwork is also showcased in response to the other artists' pieces.
