About the Exhibition

An exhibition that highlights the intersection of environmental and social justice issues through works by 14 local and international artists. Originally curated for the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the exhibition has been adapted for Houston to highlight the specific environmental concerns of the Gulf Coast. The exhibition features Brandon Ballengée's ecologically focused art and aquatic specimen drawing workshops centered on Gulf Coast biodiversity and coral reef ecosystems, along with works by other artists including Mel Chin, Tiffany Chung, Xin Liu, Cannupa Hanska Luger, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Yoshitomo Nara, Sandy Rodriguez, and others addressing climate change and its disproportionate impact on marginalized communities.
