Consciousness and Craft

An exhibition intertwining Hispanic heritage with modern digital tools. The exhibit reflects the significance of heritage and human touch in a digital world. Salgado's work serves as a visual dialogue for digital art and work created through digital programs and tools, paired with traditional Mexican folk art and the craftsmanship of their grandparents. The artist incorporates pieces of her heritage throughout, including traditional shadow-box-like displays known as nichos, commonly seen in Central and South America, which serve as artistic shrines to important figures or family members.
