Costume Art

A show highlighting the centrality of the dressed body within the museum. The exhibition will flout the old-guard curatorial convention of displaying disembodied garments as art objects, using visual juxtapositions to make the corporeal case for fashion as an extension of the art-making impulse. The exhibition will organize into a series of thematic body types including the Naked Body, Classical Body, Pregnant Body, Aging Body, Anatomical Body and the Mortal Body.
