About the Exhibition

This special exhibition created by the Jewish Museum Milwaukee examines the systematic suppression, censorship, and destruction of modern art and music by the Third Reich. Blending history and art, the exhibition features works by artists deemed 'degenerate' by Adolf Hitler and his regime and blamed for the purported moral decay of German society as the Nazis attempted to control culture and impose their nationalist ideology. The exhibit features more than 65 works by artists deemed 'degenerate' by the Third Reich.
