Día de los Muertos | Rituales de Resiliencia

Bright marigolds, papel picado, and colorful calaveritas fill the altar at the MexFest art exhibition in Flushing Town Hall. This year's MexFest theme, Rituales de Resiliencia (Rituals of Resilience), centers memory, cultural ritual, and ancestral connection. The exhibition addresses contemporary immigration issues and honors the 20 immigrants who have died this year while in custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as well as the community members who have been separated through deportation.
