A portrait series by St. Louis artist Cristina Fletes-Mach depicting real people and exploring the question 'Where are you from?' Each portrait is painted on top of a map with specific meaning to the subject. The works explore themes of migration, identity and belonging through the stories of people whose origins cannot be reduced to a single place. Maps along and underneath areas of the subjects' skin underscore the relationship between where people are, have been and who they feel they are.
