About the Exhibition

The BYU Museum of Art has spent the last decade researching, restoring, and gilding this 18-foot-tall recast Renaissance masterpiece. The Museum recently unveiled restored gypsum cast panels of Italian sculptor Lorenzo Ghiberti's famous 'Gates of Paradise.' The panels depict 10 stories from the Old Testament: Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and His Family, Abraham and Isaac, Jacob and Esau, Joseph and His Brothers, Moses and the Israelites, Joshua and Jericho, David and Goliath, and Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.
