About the Exhibition

The first exhibition to focus on Monet's luminous Venetian paintings since their debut in 1912. The exhibition features more than 100 artworks, books, and ephemera, including 19 of Monet's Venetian paintings from his 1908 trip to Venice. Monet's singular vision of Venice is set in dialogue with portrayals of the city by renowned artists such as Canaletto, Paul Signac, John Singer Sargent, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and J.M.W. Turner. The exhibition includes multisensory elements with an original symphonic score by composer Niles Luther, immersive film by Venice-based Joan Porcel Studio, and a custom fragrance inspired by the marine air of the lagoon.
