About the Exhibition
The exhibit explores Victor Quiñonez's identity as a bicultural and bilingual American, addressing timely themes of immigration, Latin American culture, and dual national identity. The exhibition includes works critical of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), featuring his 'ICE Scream' series which uses the Mexican paleta (popsicle) as a symbol to honor heritage while considering incarceration and deportation, with large melting paletas made of resin that encase handcuffs and guns.
