About the Exhibition

A monumental solo installation and commission featuring Nick Cave's new body of work. Drawing on his childhood in Chariton County, Missouri, the exhibition roots itself in family history, landscapes and craft traditions. The installation combines sculpture, video, found objects and photography, transforming these sources into a world animated by memory and the transformative possibilities of the imagination. Visitors walk among fantastical remains of ancient mammoths in this part exhibition, part large-scale performance that invites audiences to consider their relationship to the natural world and the everyday objects and histories that shape our lives.
