Radiance and Reverie: Jewelry from the Collection of Neil Lane
About the Exhibition
A dazzling exhibition that spans a century of design and debuts more than 150 historic works from the private collection of acclaimed jewelry designer Neil Lane. Set in the museum's Pritzker Prize-winning Glass Pavilion, the exhibition traces the evolution of jewelry from 19th-century revival styles to the glamour of Hollywood's red carpet. The exhibition demonstrates that the status of jewelry as both art and cultural artifact remains unchanged, even as tastes evolve, technology advances and new materials gain currency. Organized chronologically, it begins with opulent Parisian showpieces from the mid-nineteenth to early twentieth century, features 38 exquisite pieces from Tiffany & Co., and includes jewelry worn by Hollywood legends.
