About the Exhibition

A virtual art exhibit highlighting the history of people in the community. This special project invites community members to share personal or ancestral stories through images, writing, or video, preserving and sharing untold stories acknowledging the depth of the African American experience. Inspired by the Adinkra symbol 'Sankofa' of the Akan people of Ghana, meaning 'it is not taboo to go back and fetch what is at risk of being left behind.'
