About the Exhibition
An art exhibit featuring oil paintings and Kintsugi pieces created by Columbus East senior Saya Hauser to raise funds for a legal aid fund supporting low-income families facing custody-related legal fees in the aftermath of domestic violence. The exhibit includes 10 oil paintings, primarily portraits of domestic violence survivors, as well as smaller Kintsugi pieces created during a healing workshop at Coburn Place. The project is inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, symbolizing that beauty can emerge from brokenness.
