About the Exhibition
The exhibit explores Ananse, a spider figure from Ghanaian folklore known for his cunning and wisdom. Each art piece is a deep, textured brown in the general shape of Ananse the spider, with technological elements such as cords and keyboard keys added to illustrate the connection between traditional and contemporary worlds. The works belong to a new series inspired by Ghanaian folktales about Ananse the spider, whose knowledge and insights into the human condition are feared to be at risk of being lost in the digital age.
