About the Exhibition

The exhibition explores the enduring power of hands through a selection of objects, images, and practices that draw on art history, anthropology, archaeology, spiritual traditions, and material culture. It features works created by Yale students and alumni alongside archival materials from Yale collections, including artifacts such as a fragment of a hand from a statue of Ba from ancient Egyptian mythology, a painting of women at a Baptist procession, and funerary fingernail covers from Indonesia.
