Curated by Aaron Payne and Jakia Fuller, the exhibition affirms the cultural significance, complexity, and enduring presence of Black life in New Mexico, past, present, and future. Through works that engage memory, resistance, joy, and resilience, the exhibition highlights Black artists as essential storytellers and cultural bearers. Themes of everyday joy, community, rest, and cultural innovation emphasize that thriving, dreaming, and beauty are vital acts.
