13th Annual Artesian Arts Festival Call for Artists

First American artists from federally recognized tribes invited to exhibit and compete in juried art show with cash prizes in 20 categories.

The Artesian Arts Festival is hosting its 13th annual celebration of First American fine art and artists on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. This prestigious event, hosted by the Chickasaw Nation, welcomes applications from First American artists representing federally recognized tribes to participate in a juried art show and market.

The festival features a comprehensive competition across 20 categories including drawing, graphic arts, mixed media, painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, textiles, 3D diverse, beadwork/quillwork, pottery, traditional dress and regalia, weaponry, and cultural diverse. Artists can compete for multiple levels of recognition including category awards, cash prizes, "Best of Division" awards, and the prestigious "Best of Show" award.

Beyond the visual arts competition, the festival offers a vibrant community celebration experience. The event includes diverse musical entertainment, cultural dance demonstrations, and food vendors, creating an engaging atmosphere for both exhibitors and visitors. The 2025 festival attracted more than 8,800 visitors and is free and open to the public.

The festival takes place at the Artesian Plaza, adjacent to The Artesian Hotel and Spa, located at 1001 W. First St., Sulphur, Oklahoma. This accessible venue provides an excellent setting for artists to showcase their work to a substantial and appreciative audience.

Applications are currently open and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 6, 2026. Artists should review all eligibility requirements and submission guidelines on the official festival website before applying.
