2025 Petrichor International Music Competition

Fifth edition open to performers, composers, conductors and ensembles worldwide. Submit by December 22 for 12 categories with over $60,000 in prizes.

The Petrichor International Music Competition is now accepting submissions for its fifth edition, welcoming performers, composers, conductors, and ensembles of all ages and nationalities. This prestigious competition features 12 categories spanning performance, composition, recording, and multidisciplinary work, with over $60,000 in total cash prizes and promotional packages available.

The competition accepts any musical genre and style with no repertoire restrictions. Applicants may submit original compositions, contemporary works, traditional music, arrangements, or improvisations. Singers can perform in any language. All submissions are evaluated individually by the Petrichor Artistic Panel without consideration of age, nationality, gender, or musical style.

Performance categories include Solo Performers Under 16 (Grand Prize $500), Solo Performers Under 21 ($1,000), Solo Performers Over 21 ($1,500), Small Ensembles with fewer than nine performers ($1,500), and Large Ensembles, Orchestras and Choirs with more than nine performers ($2,000).

Composition categories offer Grand Prizes of $1,000-$1,500 for work by composers under and over 21, plus specialized categories for Electronic or Multidisciplinary Works, Film/Video Game/Animation Music, Arrangements, and Improvisation, each with $1,000 prizes. A Recording category for Best Album offers $2,000.

Finalists in each category receive official certificates. Participants may submit multiple entries, each evaluated independently. The first submission costs $45, with discounted fees for additional entries. Fee waivers may be granted in specific circumstances. Selected musicians will receive opportunities to release work through Petrichor Records.
