2026 Chilliwack Mural Festival - Open Call
Open call for muralists and musicians to participate in the 2026 Chilliwack Mural Festival. Local, national, and international artists welcome.
The Chilliwack Mural Festival is seeking muralists and musicians for its 2026 edition. This annual festival transforms Chilliwack's downtown core into an open-air celebration of creativity and culture, featuring large-scale public art, live music, and community programming.
Muralists: The festival invites artists to help shape how Chilliwack sees itself through storytelling in public space. Several Chilliwack sites will be chosen to be graced with murals ahead of the three-day festival. A team of curators will select muralists based on the specific needs of each site, informed by community input, research, and conversations about cultural representation, local history, storytelling, and artistic style. Curators evaluate the quality of the artist's work, their experience with large- to mid-scale projects, and their design and composition skills.
Musicians: The festival is seeking professional musicians performing original music with strong songwriting and technical skill. Selected musicians should bring energy and presence to live performances, connect with audiences, fit the festival atmosphere, be professional and prepared for a live festival environment, and contribute to a diverse range of genres and voices.
Applications are being accepted from artists of the Fraser Valley, across Canada, and internationally. Due to the high volume of submissions expected (hundreds or thousands depending on the year), only successful applicants will be contacted.
