2026 Midsummer Festival of the Arts

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center invites artists to apply for its 56th annual festival showcasing 100+ juried artists across multiple media.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is accepting applications for its 56th annual Midsummer Festival of the Arts. This free, weekend-long event will showcase more than 100 juried artists, including returning award winners, with works spanning a diverse range of media including ceramics, painting, photography, metal, fiber, watercolor, wood, and jewelry.

Beyond visual art displays, the festival features live music and performances, exhibitions, hands-on artmaking opportunities, artist demonstrations, food vendors, and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend. The event provides a significant platform for artists to reach a broad audience and connect with art enthusiasts.

A special Emerging Artist Area will invite up to five collegiate and rising artists to participate in the festival. This unique opportunity allows emerging artists to gain valuable insight into the business of art, network with established artists, and gain exposure to potential collectors and patrons.

Artists working in any of the featured media are encouraged to apply. The application process is straightforward, with applications accepted through March 2, 2026. Selected artists will receive acceptance notifications on April 7, 2026, giving them adequate time to prepare their work and logistics for the festival.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional and emerging artists to gain visibility, participate in a well-established arts community event, and potentially make sales or establish professional connections in the art world.
