2026 National Art Call for Public Sculpture

Sculpture Missoula invites artists nationally to submit proposals for new public sculptures at Silver Park, a 24/7 accessible outdoor exhibition.

Sculpture Missoula has opened its 2026 National Art Call for Public Sculpture, inviting artists from Montana and across the country to submit proposals for new sculptural works. Selected pieces will be installed at Silver Park in Missoula this fall, as part of a rotating outdoor exhibition designed to make public art accessible to everyone.

The program was created to establish a sculpture park in a city known for its vibrant arts community. Board President Chuck Leonard emphasized the goal is to build a diverse collection that appeals to various audiences. The park features works created from multiple materials including wood, metal, fiberglass, and bronze, with styles ranging from realistic to abstract designs.

Key features of the opportunity include:
- A rotating exhibition model with selected works displayed for two years
- Financial stipends provided to selected artists during the display period
- Sculptures available for purchase, with donations encouraged to build a permanent collection
- Free, 24/7 public access with no admission charges
- Current installations will be expanded to 10 temporary sculptures

The Silver Park initiative reflects a commitment to supporting the local and regional art community while making art accessible to all residents and visitors. The program's emphasis on accessibility means art is available to everyone regardless of economic circumstances. This opportunity welcomes submissions from both established and emerging artists interested in public sculpture.
