2026 Patriotic Bench Project Art Submissions
Submit bench designs celebrating America's 250th birthday for Tinley Park's public art project. Deadline: December 30, 2025.
Tinley Park, Illinois is calling for artists and creatives to submit designs for the 2026 Benches on the Avenue public art project. This annual initiative transforms benches along Oak Park Avenue into colorful, functional works of public art that engage residents, visitors, and families throughout the year.
The 2026 program theme is "Party in the USA," celebrating America's 250th birthday. The Village of Tinley Park is seeking unique, imaginative, and three-dimensional designs that are kid- and family-friendly while highlighting the spirit, landmarks, and diversity of the United States.
Designs should be vibrant, colorful, and visually engaging with encouraged three-dimensional detail. The call is open to anyone with artistic creativity, regardless of experience level. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging and established artists alike to contribute to Tinley Park's growing public art scene.
Prospective artists must submit two original bench designs to help avoid duplication among selected entries. All submissions will be reviewed by the Village, and artists will be notified of selections by January 7, 2026.
The Benches on the Avenue program has become a signature feature in downtown Tinley Park, drawing foot traffic, supporting local businesses, and offering interactive photo opportunities. Selected designs will be installed and displayed throughout 2026, providing significant community visibility for participating artists.
