2026 South African Music Awards Open Call
RiSA invites artists, producers, labels, and independents to submit entries for the 2026 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) across 30+ genre categories.
The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) has opened submissions for the 2026 South African Music Awards (SAMAs), one of South Africa's most prestigious music recognition platforms. This is an opportunity for artists, producers, labels, and independent musicians to have their work recognized and celebrated across a comprehensive range of genres.
The SAMAs cover over 30 genre categories, recognizing a diverse spectrum of South African music from chart-topping commercial hits to underground and experimental releases. The awards celebrate excellence across all musical styles and provide valuable industry recognition that can boost careers and visibility.
The 2025 edition (SAMA31) was successfully held at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg on December 13, 2025, with artists like Thandiswa Mazwai winning multiple awards. The organization has reported increased entry numbers in recent years and aims to maintain this momentum with SAMA32.
RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi emphasized the organization's commitment: "We have had an incredible year, marked by the hybrid triumphant staging of the milestone SAMA31. Now we are fired up and raring to go with SAMA32 preparations. We have seen an increased number of entries in the past years and we hope to maintain this."
Submissions can be made online or through physical delivery to the Randburg office. The organization values the continued participation from the music industry and encourages all deserving music practitioners to submit their work for consideration in this highly regarded awards program.
